THE LAWRENCE FAMILY COLLECTION

Ars Longa, Vita Brevis

We believe that art collection shouldn't be about ego or status. That is why our acquisitions are based on our subjective judgment of intrinsic worth, not the stature of the artist, the collections of others, or the latest prices paid at auction. Finding and preserving these treasures has been a decades-long endeavor that remains a passionate quest for enduring beauty.

Living History

Our collection of rare 16th through 19th century maps traces the journey of our Lawrence family ancestors  from their ancient origins as titled gentry in Lancashire, England to London where they were merchant bankers and members of the bar (Inner Temple) in the 16th and 17th centuries to their ultimate migration to the Colony of Virginia in 1634 and thereafter to Tennessee, Texas, and beyond.
