MAPS & BOOKS

A Journey Through Time

Our collection of rare 16th through 19th century maps traces the journey of our paternal Lawrence family ancestors  from their ancient origins as titled gentry in Lancashire, England to their subsequent move to London where they were merchant bankers and members of the bar (Inner Temple) to their ultimate migration to the Colony of Virginia in 1634 and their subsequent migrations to Tennessee, Texas, and beyond. The collection includes manuscript maps and globes ranging in date from 1588 to 1848. Our library includes over 100 19th and 20th century leatherbound law books.
