Hand-painted encausto

This eye-catching post-modern piece of functional art, crafted from machine metal and hand-painted white encausto, was designed in 1980 by Lella & Massimo Vignelli for Acerbis and produced in Italy exclusively for our collection. The table has a unique design and timeless quality with the thinness and lightness of the glass top contrasting with the considerable diameter of the columns. Artisan-made encausto is a mixture of cement paste, inert materials such as sand, marble powder, earth, and special resins that allow streaks, spots, variegation, light troughs. Each finish is unique, never repetitive.
